A few days ago in a mass email I was informed that as of Feb 29th I would no longer on be on the DT at "name withheld". The team and I were stunned to say the least. After I expressed my extreme disappointment with the situation my account with the site was suspended. Leaving me with out a chance to say good bye and thank you to my friends. It was devastating. You don't realize how much you love and adore something until it's so quickly taken from you.
I realize now that had I kept my comments to myself and played "nice" I would have been able to properly say goodbye, collect all of my PM's, make any gallery changes that I wanted and so on. However, I decided to defend myself and my fellow team and make it known that you do not treat people this way. You do not send out a mass email to people who have been on a DT for 2-4 years and dismiss them. You just don't. (I know 2-4 years on a DT sounds very long, we of course had turn over, but we also had people on the DT for years because their love of the site was that strong!)
Upon the suspension of my account at this site, it was brought to my attention that the DT and I were being painted in a very ugly light. The things that were being said about us were simply untrue. Our friends at this site began to defend us and their words were quickly deleted from the site.
Now, after the dust has settled a bit, something has become very clear to me. While I am deeply saddened with the way this situation was handled, I can see now what is really important. That site was simply a virtual location where I met these wonderful people who have become life long friends. We do not need that location to continue sharing our lives and creations with each other!
If that virtual location is no longer home, it's ok! It will take a lot more than being suspended from a site to break up friendships. As the days pass and the sadness lifts we are able to once again be together at a wonderful place called
Scraplove. We have been welcomed there with open arms and we have been able to make new friends while keeping our old ones.
That being said, I would like to say thank you so much to my friends who have stood by me and the girls! We are so lucky to have you all!!!
xoxo
